Bushfire Appeal

It's not very often you will see me promoting anything to do with a Corporate Industrial Giant, especially one's like Wesfarmers who as I have blogged before don't care that much about me and my family and neighbours...

Infact I am usually critical of some 'donations big industry make - because it is usually all about buying support from some of the community... But this is different and these people need all the help they can get.

Wesfarmers have been behind the Victorian Bushfire Appeals and as explained here and here:

"Coles to donate this Friday’s profits to Victorian Bushfire Appeal Fund
Coles will donate this Friday’s (13 Feb) profits from its 750 stores nationally to the Government’s Bushfire Appeal Fund in partnership with the Red Cross.
Customers will also be able to donate to the Victorian Bushfire Appeal Fund at all Coles stores. Donations can be made at all Coles supermarket checkouts from today".
So if you have shopping to do later in the week please seriously consider shopping at Coles on Friday.

A nation mourns

Horrific - is how one blogger described the story. And really what other word best describes Victoria's worst ever bushfires, with a confirmed 126 lives lost and the news that emergency services expect that number will increase to at least 230.

It is impossible to aprehend why anyone would delibertely set these fires.

I and I am sure many more here feel stunned and helpless, my heart goes out to those that have lost loved ones and property and those still battling the conditions.

With the temperatures here in Western Australia heading back to the 40's, we need to brace ourselves.

Perth Now - Sky News video WA braces for raging fires.

And not that far away Queensland Floods.

For those able to help Red Cross has online donation forms here.
