We are Australian

Yes we are Australian, but just what is it these days with all these fools trying to prove how Australian they are by driving around with so called Australian flags attached to car windows etc?

Most of these flags are made in China and imported by companies like Red Dot. Gone
Bizarre etc.

Does this madness actually make these people feel good about themsleves?

An Australian flag is not an Australian flag if it is made in China.

Wanted: Australian Politician with ethics

I think most of us where moved by the Barak Obama speach, but I think more importantly many people hold hope that this is a sign of change in our world.

With the latest Obahma news as reported on Perthnow:

"BARACK Obama has signed his first executive orders as US President, determined to ensure members of his administration serve the public, not themselves.
The President promised a new era of accountability and transparency, saying there would be a "clean break from business as usual".

"His first announcement was a pay freeze on senior White House staff. He said American families were tightening their belts, and so should Washington.

But he also set out new restrictions on lobbyists and introduced ethics briefings for all members of the administration.

He said the moves were "to help restore faith in government, without which we cannot deliver the changes that we were sent here to make".

He said he would issue new directions on the interpretation of the Freedom of Information Act, changing the emphasis from keeping details secret to making them known".

The comparison is as reported again on Perthnow:

"DESPITE calling for wage restraint, Prime Minister Kevin Rudd has secretly paid two advisers top-ups to bolster their $200,000-plus incomes.
Despite calling on workers to defer pay claims, Mr Rudd intervened to have a salary bonus paid to his "boy wonder" chief of staff, Alister Jordan, his 29-year-old long-serving confidant.

Another senior adviser has also breached the Government's official salary cap, boosting his "principal adviser" salary above the top level of $192,000.

Mr Jordan has worked side-by-side with Mr Rudd for six years and is one offour Government advisers paid at the top "principal adviser" level.

With superannuation and overtime added to salaries, principal advisers earn close to $250,000 in annual income.

The revelations of the top-up payments are embarrassing for the PM, who on Monday night called on workers to show wage restraint as Australia rockets towards recession".

Don't get me wrong this isn't a Liberal-Labor thing, but a finding an Australian politician with morals thing.

It certainly seems our great hope PM may not be so great after all, but isn't every politician you know in Australia self serving first and foremost?

It Just Continues

While Kwinana Industry and our fearless Government Regulators of Hazardous Industry are running around claiming that there is no problem with safety and notification etc. in Kwinana Industry and that it's just me “shit-stirring and making false statements such as "all the incidents were reported" - the gas releases have continued with another chlorine gas release the other day.

You may like to check out some past blogs on Kwinana Industry emergencies here, here, here, here, here and here.

Thankfully no one has been killed recently, but if and/or when it does happen, those responsible for allowing this to continue unabated will be pursued - Eventually justice will prevail.

Meanwhile we question why our Government regulators are either incompetent/ corrupt or both?

We must also question why our authorities including the regulators of Kwinana Industry and the Kwinana Council can only muster the "We will maintain a good relationship with Kwinana Industry" line. – WHY?

We continue to monitor and record examples of how Kwinana Industry buys community support.

"It is from numberless diverse acts of courage and belief that human history is shaped. Each time a man stands up for an ideal, or acts to improve the lot of others, or strikes out against injustice, he sends forth a tiny ripple of hope, and crossing each other from a million different centres of energy and daring those ripples build a current which can weep down the mightiest walls of oppression and injustice."
